To qualify for the S2S Temporary Grant Assistance Program you must meet the following criteria:
- You are a Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces.
- You have a DD Form 214 (or can obtain one).
- You are currently experiencing a temporary financial hardship.
when should i apply?
Grant applications are reviewed and dispersed on a quarterly basis:
- The grant review period is currently CLOSED.
- The next window for processing grant applications is October 1 to October 31, 2024.
- All submitted grant applications will be reviewed November 1 to November 30, 2024.
- Decisions on grant applications will be communicated starting December 1.
How do I apply?
Here's a step-by-step guide to applying for the S2S Temporary Grant Assistance Program:
Grants are awarded based on your specific need and supporting documentation (examples are bills or a rental agreement). The maximum award is $1,000.
- Fill Out the Request Form: Complete the online form located below.
- Schedule an Appointment: Schedule a meeting to discuss your application with an S2S representative. We offer appointments in-office [OR offsite, depending on your needs]. No need to call the office. Once your form has been reviewed, an S2S representative will reach out to you to schedule an appointment. If it is determined you do not qualify, an S2S representative will notify you.
- Review Meeting: Attend your scheduled appointment to review your application and supporting documents with an S2S representative. Supporting documentation includes:
- Government-issue Identification
- DD214 form
- Proof of hardship. Examples: (utility bill, lease and landlord’s contact info, etc.)
- Application Decision: You will be notified of the grant application decision during the communication period defined above. In urgent cases, we may be able to expedite the process.
