Sgt. William Morris
United States Air Force Served in WWII - 13th Air Force. Radio Control Operator. Flew a total of 25 missions on B-24 bomber. Shot down on 13th mission, April 8th, 1945 over the South China Sea. Rescued by the U.S.S. Cobia and spent 1 week on patrol before returning to home base in Papua, New Guinea. |

Lt. Martin Joseph Cosgrove, MD
United States Navy Served in Vietnam - USS Francis Marion, USS Magoffin Martin attended Jefferson Medical College receiving his medical degree in 1964. He entered active duty in the US Navy under the Berry Plan, going to sea on the USS Francis Marion and the USS Magoffin during the Vietnam War. |

Sgt. Jack Burke
United States Marine Corp Served in WW II - Amphibious Reconnaissance Company Jack saw action many times in the Pacific Theater including Iwo Jima - receiving numerous commendations, medals, a silver and bronze star. He may not have raised the flag in Iwo Jima, but he saw it happen in the distance. Jack was a relentless Yankees and Syracuse fan. He loved tennis and paddleball, then swimming and golf later in life (witnesses claim the man hit 2, possibly 3 hole-in-ones). Jack spent his final several years checking in on his family via his 40" computer screen. Jack's stories and sayings ("life is like a bowl of cherries") will forever be shared across the dinner tables of his growing family. |

SP5 Frank M. Mebs
United States Army, 18th Engineer Brigade Served in Vietnam Frank Mebs was killed in 1970 while almost single-handedly extinguishing a fire in an ammunition dump at Fire Support Base Veghel in Thua Thien, Vietnam. Mebs was one of two bulldozer drivers who fought the blaze to prevent a catastrophic explosion. Because of Mebs heroism, only one other person lost their life and some 600 lives were saved. Retired veteran Steve Kilde championed the securing of his military honors 54 years after, inc;uding: Army Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Presidential Unit Citation, and a Meritorious Unit Citation. Bucks County Bridge #89, connecting Newtown Borough and Township, was co-named in in Mebs' honor. Read More: |

Leonard Fulton
United States Navy Served in WWII Born on July 6, 1924 in Philadelphia Pa, Leonard was inducted into the US Navy in May of 1943. He served on the USS Clarence L. Evans (DE113), a cannon-class destroyer that provided escort service against submarine and air attacks for Navy vessels and convoys in the Atlantic Ocean. Leonard's favorite assignment during the Atlantic crossings was serving time in the Wheelhouse as the Starboard lookout. He recently celebrated his 100th birthday. |

Sgt. Thomas Groark
United States Marine Corp Served in Vietnam Born in Pittston, PA Tom was a graduate of Bishop Egan High School and Trenton State College. He lived in Bucks County for most of his life.Tom was a proud Veteran, who served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. Tom was a member of the Marine Corps Division 281. He faithfully attended the Funeral Ceremonies of Unclaimed Veterans at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. Tom was also a longtime member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. |

John Ellsworth Rumsey
United States Marine Corp Served in Vietnam Born on July 6,1951 in Monroe, New York, John grew up to be a remarkable man who was best known in his younger years as being an extraordinary athlete. A proud Vietnam veteran, John served his country with bravery and honor. He survived injuries from a grenade blast and multiple gunshot wounds, an unthinkable sacrifice that earned him two Purple Hearts and the admiration of those who knew his story. Despite his service and awards, he remained humble, never seeing himself as a hero, but simply as a man who did what was necessary. |

S1 Bernard Francis Devine
United States Navy Served in World War II Bernard Francis Devine, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He served aboard the USS Tallulah (AO-50) and was part of the effort supporting naval operations in the Pacific theater. During his service, he received several commendations. including the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with four stars, Navy Occupation Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with star. |

T/5 Edward D. Kain
United States Army Served Post-World War II Edward D. Kain proudly served in the United States Army from September 18, 1946 to January 14, 1948. He achieved the rank of Technician Fifth Grade and completed his service with an Honorable Discharge. Born in Pennsylvania in 1928, Edward D. Kain answered the call to serve his country during the post-World War II period, contributing to the continued strength and readiness of the United States Armed Forces during a time of global transition. |
