industrial refrigeration technician
The Industrial Refrigeration Technician will be responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and smaller repairs of Freon refrigeration systems across our facilities. This is a senior-level role requiring strong hands-on expertise, a proactive maintenance mindset, and the ability to work independently with minimal reliance on outside contractors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Perform preventive maintenance on Freon refrigeration systems (compressors, pumps, evaporators, condensers, valves, and controls). · Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration equipment issues, ensuring minimal downtime. · Conduct leak detection, oil changes, filter replacements, and valve inspections. · Maintain compliance with EPA, OSHA, and PSM requirements. · Keep accurate refrigeration logs, records, and documentation. · Support safe startups, shutdowns, and operational adjustments to refrigeration systems. · Coordinate with external contractors for large-scale repairs while overseeing quality and cost control. · Partner with production and facilities teams to ensure product quality through proper temperature management. · Maintain parts inventory and familiarity with our vendors · Help build the department and structures for success and predictive maintenance QUALIFICATIONS: · EPA 608 Universal Certification (mandatory for Freon systems). · 10+ years of industrial refrigeration experience, preferably in food manufacturing, cold storage, or large-scale industrial settings. · Demonstrated hands-on system experience (not just classroom knowledge). · Familiarity with OSHA PSM / RMP requirements for refrigeration. · Strong troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills. · Strong knowledge of Multivac, Rieser, and other meat processing equipment a plus Preferred · RETA Certification (CARO or CIRO). · HAZWOPER training (24- or 40-hour). · Air compressor knowledge · Electrical/controls knowledge (PLC and automation troubleshooting). · Must own tools · Reliable transportation · Bilingual English/Spanish a strong plus but not required.

The U.S. Small Business Administration Eastern Pennsylvania District Office presents a virtual "Boots to Business" Entrepreneurship Training Program. Open to transitioning Service members (including National Guard and Reserve) and their spouses.
