About Salute 2 ServiceSalute 2 Service, Inc. (S2S) is a nonprofit organization serving veterans, service members, and their families throughout the community. S2S helps connect veterans with resources, assistance, referrals, community programs, and trusted partner organizations based on their individual needs.
We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and highly organized Veteran Intake & Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team.
This position serves as a primary point of contact for veterans seeking assistance from S2S and plays an important role in ensuring each veteran is welcomed, heard, properly documented, connected with appropriate resources, and followed up with throughout the referral process.
The position also supports S2S community outreach, volunteers, events, programs, and day-to-day office operations.
Veteran Intake & Resource CoordinationThe Veteran Intake & Community Engagement Coordinator will:

• Welcome veterans and serve as an initial point of contact for individuals seeking S2S services.
  
• Conduct veteran intake interviews and complete required intake documentation.
  
• Identify and document immediate needs and requested assistance.
  
• Collect and review required documentation and ensure intake records are complete.
  
• Enter and maintain accurate information within S2S internal tracking systems.
  
• Connect veterans with appropriate S2S programs, services, and community resources.
  
• Coordinate referrals and warm hand-offs to community partner organizations.
  
• Schedule appointments with S2S staff, Veterans Service Officers (VSOs), partner agencies, and other resources when appropriate.
  
• Follow up with veterans regarding referrals, appointments, documentation, and outstanding needs.
  
• Maintain accurate case notes documenting services, referrals, communications, follow-up, and outcomes.
  
• Maintain strict confidentiality when handling veteran and household information.
  
• Recognize situations requiring additional assistance and escalate crisis, safety, emergency, or complex matters to S2S leadership in accordance with organizational procedures.
  

Community Engagement & Program SupportAdditional responsibilities include:

• Assisting with community outreach and partner communications.
  
• Responding to volunteer inquiries and helping coordinate volunteer activities.
  
• Supporting S2S events, donation drives, fundraisers, outreach activities, and community programs.
  
• Assisting with the S2S Food Pantry, Clothing Pantry, and other veteran assistance programs.
  
• Maintaining outreach, volunteer, event, and program records.
  
• Assisting with community announcements, flyers, social media, and promotional activities as needed.
  
• Representing S2S professionally when interacting with veterans, families, volunteers, donors, community organizations, and the public.
  
• Providing general administrative and office support.
  
• Assisting S2S leadership with additional projects, programs, and operational needs.
  

QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:

• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  
• A compassionate and respectful approach when working with veterans and individuals experiencing difficult circumstances.
  
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  
• The ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information.
  
• Comfort conducting one-on-one intake conversations.
  
• The ability to accurately document services, referrals, communications, and follow-up.
  
• Dependability and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and priorities.
  
• The ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a small nonprofit team.
  
• Basic computer proficiency, including email, Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, data entry, and electronic recordkeeping.
  

Experience in veteran services, nonprofit organizations, social services, client intake, administrative support, community outreach, or resource coordination is preferred.
Veterans and military-connected applicants are encouraged to apply; military service is not required.

Schedule & CompensationThis is a full-time, in-person position based at the Salute 2 Service office in Bristol, Pennsylvania.
Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Pay: $15.00 to 18.00 depending on experience.
Some flexibility may be required for occasional S2S events, outreach activities, or programs held outside regular office hours.
